Kary is a native of Northeast Texas. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2005 with a degree in Government. He spent 13 years as a teacher and coach before finally settling into his role with DVSC in 2019. His uncle, Dr. Jerry E. Skidmore has been a practicing veterinarian in Mount Pleasant, TX for the last 50 years and Kary gained his love of animals from him. In his free time, Kary enjoys traveling with his wife, Heather, a flight attendant with Southwest Airlines. He also loves baseball and football, reading, and being active with his two dogs, Goat, a 9 year old Westie Mix, and Jake, his 7 year old Beagle. Most of all, Kary spends as much time as he can with his 3 adult children and 2 grandkids.
